Lord & Savior – November 19, 2015

Today’s Translation : The Message | Weekly Video : The Blind Will See (Isaiah 43:8-13) “I, yes I, am God. I’m the only Savior there is.” – Isaiah 43:11 Live It Out! When we place our faith and hope in someone or something other than God, we invite calamity into our lives. God created the heavens and the earth. He knows us inside and out. And He has also chosen to love us as our Heavenly Father. There is no salvation outside of Jesus. Only His sacrifice can restore everything that has been broken by sin. If we want to see this world redeemed, then we must learn to view God as the one and only Lord and Savior. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1QOZZdp via IFTTT

You Are My Witnesses – November 18, 2015

Today’s Translation : Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video : The Blind Will See (Isaiah 43:8-13) ““You are My witnesses”— this is the Lord’s declaration— “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. No god was formed before Me, and there will be none after Me.” – Isaiah 43:10 Live It Out! The only answer to the darkness of this world is the light of Christ. Just as God called out Israel to be His witnesses during their time in exile, He is calling us out in our exile. This world is not our home. Let us stay focused on heaven above while telling people about what Jesus has done in our lives. God is in control, and He loves us as His own children, so there is no reason to worry about the future. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1MUosaW via IFTTT

Nations Gather – November 17, 2015

Today’s Translation : The Voice Bible | Weekly Video : The Blind Will See (Isaiah 43:8-13) “All the nations gather together; peoples from all over the world assemble. Who among them could have forseen this? Let them call their witnesses to make their case, prove they are in the right— that it is the truth.” – Isaiah 43:9 Live It Out! The internet allows for people from all over the world to gather together and share their experiences with each other. We must be able to give an account for what we believe. Despite the many religious options out there, Jesus is still the way, the truth and the life. Be willing to listen to others, but also be prepared to tell them about who Jesus is and what He has done in your life. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1j4OZL6 via IFTTT

Blind & Deaf – November 16, 2015

Today’s Translation : New Living Translation | Weekly Video : The Blind Will See (Isaiah 43:8-13) “Bring out the people who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf.” – Isaiah 43:8 Live It Out! Isaiah was speaking to Israelites who were exiled in Babylon. This was a generation who had yet to witness the power of the God who had rescued their ancestors out of slavery in Egypt. Just because we can’t see God at work doesn’t mean He isn’t busy. Their exile would soon end when Cyrus the Great rises to power in the region. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1HRJGdE via IFTTT

November 14, 2015 – Good Father

Today’s Translation : The Amplified Bible | Weekly Video : Let My People Go! (Psalm 81) “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! Then I would quickly subdue and humble their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries; those who hate the Lord would pretend obedience to Him and cringe before Him, and their time of punishment would be forever. But I would feed Israel with the finest of the wheat; and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.” – Psalm 81:13-16 Live It Out! Our God is a good Father who wants to act on our behalf. A life of obedience to God will lead to the ultimate blessing of experiencing His presence in our everyday lives through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. As the Church, we are bound to each other as one family under God. Let us serve Him together! from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1OK7OBu via IFTTT

November 13, 2015 – Listen to God!

Today’s Translation : New International Version | Weekly Video : Let My People Go! (Psalm 81) “But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.” – Psalm 81:11-12 Live It Out! God loves us as His own children, and He takes the role of Heavenly Father seriously. One of His greatest concerns throughout Scripture is for His people to simply listen to Him. When you pray, do you talk more than you listen? We need to allow our Heavenly Father to speak truth into our lives. Trust Him! from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1NPcpB1 via IFTTT

November 12, 2015 – Out of Egypt

Today’s Translation : The Message | Weekly Video : Let My People Go! (Psalm 81) “Listen, dear ones— get this straight; O Israel, don’t take this lightly. Don’t take up with strange gods, don’t worship the latest in gods. I’m God, your God, the very God who rescued you from doom in Egypt, then fed you all you could eat, filled your hungry stomachs.” – Psalm 81:8-10 Live It Out! Throughout the Old Testament, God constantly reminds His followers about how He rescued them out of slavery in Egypt. First of all, it is a shame this story is so often forgotten by the ancient Israelites. Second, this shows God as a deity who is not only concerned about history but willing to participate in it (as we later see with the birth of Jesus). Above all, we are called to be witnesses of Christ. So, what has God rescued you from? from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1MagZaF via IFTTT

November 11, 2015 – Redeemed!

Today’s Translation : Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video : Let My People Go! (Psalm 81) “I heard an unfamiliar language: “I relieved his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from carrying the basket. You called out in distress, and I rescued you; answered you from the thundercloud. I tested you at the waters of Mariah.” – Psalm 81:6-7 Live It Out! One of the main reasons we worship God is because of what He has done for us (namely salvation). Through the blood of Christ, we are redeemed in both body and spirit. Just as Israel had a covenant with God, we too are called to worship the only God who deserves to be worshiped. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1RS1lCk via IFTTT

November 10, 2015 – God of Jacob

Today’s Translation : The Voice Bible | Weekly Video : Let My People Go! (Psalm 81) “For this is prescribed for Israel, a rule ordained by the True God of Jacob. A precept established by God in Joseph during His journey in Egypt.” – Psalm 81:4-5 Live It Out! Throughout Scripture, God refers to Himself in relation to others (most commonly Abraham, Isaac and Jacob). This shows us that our God is a personal God who has a vested interest in human history. God is not a distant deity or an ancient philosophy; He is our Heavenly Father who wants to be involved in our lives. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1NrOwuR via IFTTT

November 9, 2015 – Called to Worship

Today’s Translation : New Living Translation | Weekly Video : Let My People Go! (Psalm 81) “Sing praises to God, our strength. Sing to the God of Jacob. Sing! Beat the tambourine. Play the sweet lyre and the harp. Blow the ram’s horn at new moon, and again at full moon to call a festival!” – Psalm 81:1-3 Live It Out! We are called to worship God together using our various talents, gifts and passions. We must have an attitude of worship in all we do. Since God has done great things on our behalf, let us celebrate His name through the way we live our lives (this includes our music, art and holidays). from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1QvSzLJ via IFTTT

November 7, 2015 – Point People to Jesus

Today’s Translation : The Amplified Bible | Weekly Video : Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21) “Then He rolled up the scroll [having stopped in the middle of the verse], gave it back to the attendant and sat down [to teach]; and the eyes of all those in the synagogue were [attentively] fixed on Him. He began speaking to them: “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing and in your presence.”” – Luke 4:20-21 Live It Out! As the Church, our charge is to point people to Jesus. There is nothing we can acquire or achieve that can compare to being washed clean by the blood of Christ. Once we are in Christ, our bodies become God’s holy temple, and His Spirit begins to transform us from the inside out. This is the only recipe for true and permanent change. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1PgA5zF via IFTTT

November 6, 2015 – Scripture Fulfilled

Today’s Translation : New International Version | Weekly Video : Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21) “Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”” – Luke 4:20-21 Live It Out! Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament and then commissioned us – the Church – to fulfill the New Testament. Everything we read in the Bible is about Jesus – who He is, what He came to do and what He wants us to do. The Bible is not simply a text book or an ancient document to be studied – it is the living, breathing Word of God. from Paradigm Shift http://ift.tt/1LWTEZO via IFTTT

November 5, 2014 – Preserving the Truth

Today’s Translation : The Message | Weekly Video : Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21) “God’s Spirit is on me; he’s chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor, sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the burdened and battered free, to announce, “This is God’s year to act!”” – Luke 4:18-19 Live It Out! The Church is called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Part of that mission is to preserve the truth of who Jesus is and what He came to do. Many people have misconceptions of what it means to be a Christian – even people inside the Church! Let us devote ourselves to lovingly sharing the truth of God’s Word to all who will hear. from Paradigm Shift http://ift.tt/1Q9kXnH via IFTTT

November 4, 2015 – Proclaim the Good News!

Today’s Translation : Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video : Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21) “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” – Luke 4:18-19 Live It Out! The good news we have to share is Jesus – who He is and what He came to do. The world around us is dying, and we have the answer people are looking for! Together, we can flood the airwaves and social media feeds with the good news of Jesus! You have a voice, so use it to proclaim freedom to a world ensnared by sin. from Paradigm Shift http://ift.tt/1Pe4bUl via IFTTT

November 3, 2015 – Building the Kingdom

Today’s Translation : The Voice Bible | Weekly Video : Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21) “The Spirit of the Lord the Eternal One is on Me.Why? Because the Eternal designated Me to be His representative to the poor, to preach good news to them.” – Luke 4:18 Live It Out! The Holy Spirit gives us gifts in order to build up the kingdom of God. We are ambassadors of Christ, and we are to represent His interests wherever we are. This world needs the hope that we have, so we must move beyond our comfort zones and preach the good news to all! from Paradigm Shift http://ift.tt/1NSUKqi via IFTTT

November 2, 2015 – The Spirit Is Upon the Church

Today’s Translation : New Living Translation | Weekly Video : Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21) “When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…” – Luke 4:16-18 Live It Out! When Jesus speaks of Himself, by extension, He also speaks for us. We are the body of Christ, and we are to follow His lead by allowing the Holy Spirit to fill every aspect of our lives. Since the Spirit is upon us, we must be both bold and humble in preaching the Word. from Paradigm Shift http://ift.tt/1Pe0Zba via IFTTT
