Gentle Correction – May 24, 2016

Today’s Translation: The Voice Bible | Weekly Video: The Whole Truth (Acts 18:24-19:7)

“So, when Priscilla and Aquila heard him speak boldly in the synagogue, they discerned both his gift and his lack of full understanding. They took him aside and in private explained the way of God to him more accurately and fully.” – Acts 18:26 (VOICE)

Live It Out! 

Apollos was a new believer who was on fire for God. While he was willing and skilled at sharing his faith, he needed to have things better explained to him. Instead of calling him out publicly, Priscilla and Aquila pulled him aside and spoke to him privately. It is easy to criticize and discourage others, but we are called to be better than that. We are in this together. We best serve the Kingdom when we build each other up rather than tear each other down.

No matter our color or our creed, we all (as Christians) share a common foundation — Christ lived a sinless life, died on a cross, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and is coming back again. Our salvation is tied to our foundation. Denominational doctrine and stylistic preferences are to be of secondary concern. Part of the Family – April 30, 2016

Today’s Translation : The Amplified Bible | Weekly Video : The Right Way (Acts 9:1-19) “So Ananias left and entered the house, and he laid his hands on Saul and said, ‘Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came [to Damascus], has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit [in order to proclaim Christ to both Jews and Gentiles].’ Immediately something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized; and he took some food and was strengthened.” – Acts 9:17-19 (AMP) Live It Out!
