Part of the Family – April 30, 2016

Today’s Translation : The Amplified Bible | Weekly Video : The Right Way (Acts 9:1-19) “So Ananias left and entered the house, and he laid his hands on Saul and said, ‘Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came [to Damascus], has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit [in order to proclaim Christ to both Jews and Gentiles].’ Immediately something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized; and he took some food and was strengthened.” – Acts 9:17-19 (AMP) Live It Out! It’s a beautiful thing when someone begins to follow Jesus because he or she is now part of a global family. When Ananias addresses Saul as brother, he is demonstrating great forgiveness. Following Jesus transcends anything that can divide us. The best way to break down barriers is to treat people like family. We can disagree, we can argue, we can fight, but we are still bound together by the blood of...

Chosen Instrument – April 29, 2016

Today’s Translation : New International Version | Weekly Video : The Right Way (Acts 9:1-19) “But the Lord said to Ananias, ‘Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.’” – Acts 9:15-16 (NIV) Live It Out! Saul of Tarsus would go on to be known as Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles. He was well versed in both Scripture and Greek studies. Our past prepares us for the future. The truth is, God has already chosen us, and it’s up to us to answer His call. Whatever ministry God has for you, He will prepare you for. Sometimes it’s the most mundane parts of our lives that shape us the most. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://ift.tt/1NF2TCc via IFTTT

Rise & Go! – April 28, 2016

Today’s Translation : The Message | Weekly Video : The Right Way (Acts 9:1-19) “There was a disciple in Damascus by the name of Ananias. The Master spoke to him in a vision: ‘Ananias.’ ‘Yes, Master?’ he answered. ‘Get up and go over to Straight Avenue. Ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus. His name is Saul. He’s there praying. He has just had a dream in which he saw a man named Ananias enter the house and lay hands on him so he could see again.’ Ananias protested, ‘Master, you can’t be serious. Everybody’s talking about this man and the terrible things he’s been doing, his reign of terror against your people in Jerusalem! And now he’s shown up here with papers from the Chief Priest that give him license to do the same to us.’” – Acts 9:10-14 (MSG) Live It Out! Sometimes God calls us to overcome our fear. It’s one thing to say you love your enemies, but it’s another to actually go out on a limb for them. This world will only be changed for the better if our love for one a...

Why Are You Persecuting Me? – April 26, 2016

Today’s Translation : The Voice Bible | Weekly Video : The Right Way (Acts 9:1-19) “He traveled north toward Damascus with a group of companions. Imagine this: Suddenly a light flashes from the sky around Saul, and he falls to the ground at the sound of a voice. The Lord: ‘Saul, Saul, why are you attacking Me?’ Saul: ‘Lord, who are You?’ Then he hears these words: The Lord: ‘I am Jesus. I am the One you are attacking.’” – Acts 9:3-5 (VOICE) Live It Out! Jesus makes things personal. The person of Jesus is what makes Christianity different than any other religion or ideology. We follow the living Son of God. When people reject the Gospel, they are rejecting Jesus Himself. Jesus gave His life for the forgiveness of our sin. Saying no thank you to that gift goes far beyond rejecting a faith or ideology. Jesus died for you. And then He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. Not only that, He will come again to set all things right. Don’t just believe in Jesus; actively follow Him....

Six Thirty Saturday Nite (Savior of the World) - April 16, 2016

We took "church on the go" on the road this week to Virginia. Our passage for the week is Acts 8:26-40 where Phillip shares the Gospel with the Ethiopian Eunuch. Our big idea was that the Gospel is good news for everyone regardless of who they are or where they come from.

Saul of Tarsus – April 25, 2016

Today’s Translation : New Living Translation | Weekly Video : The Right Way (Acts 9:1-19) “Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest. He requested letters addressed to the synagogues in Damascus, asking for their cooperation in the arrest of any followers of the Way he found there. He wanted to bring them— both men and women— back to Jerusalem in chains.” – Acts 9:1-2 (NLT) Live It Out! Before Paul became known as “the apostle to the gentiles,” he was Saul, Pharisee and infamous persecutor of Christians. He was present when Stephen became the first Christian martyr, and here he is on his way to round up believers in Damascus. Despite all this, God still chose him to be a leader in the Church. Paul would go on to plant churches, train pastors and write most of the New Testament. Know if Saul of Tarsus can become Paul the apostle, there is hope for us all. from Paradigm Shift Ministries http://i...
