Lord & Savior – November 19, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Message | Weekly Video: The Blind Will See (Isaiah 43:8-13)

“I, yes I, am God. I’m the only Savior there is.” – Isaiah 43:11

Live It Out!

When we place our faith and hope in someone or something other than God, we invite calamity into our lives. God created the heavens and the earth. He knows us inside and out. And He has also chosen to love us as our Heavenly Father. There is no salvation outside of Jesus. Only His sacrifice can restore everything that has been broken by sin. If we want to see this world redeemed, then we must learn to view God as the one and only Lord and Savior.

You Are My Witnesses – November 18, 2015

Today’s Translation: Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video: The Blind Will See (Isaiah 43:8-13)

““You are My witnesses”— this is the Lord’s declaration— “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. No god was formed before Me, and there will be none after Me.” – Isaiah 43:10

Live It Out!

The only answer to the darkness of this world is the light of Christ. Just as God called out Israel to be His witnesses during their time in exile, He is calling us out in our exile. This world is not our home. Let us stay focused on heaven above while telling people about what Jesus has done in our lives. God is in control, and He loves us as His own children, so there is no reason to worry about the future.

Nations Gather – November 17, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Voice Bible | Weekly Video: The Blind Will See (Isaiah 43:8-13)

“All the nations gather together; peoples from all over the world assemble. Who among them could have forseen this? Let them call their witnesses to make their case, prove they are in the right— that it is the truth.” – Isaiah 43:9

Live It Out!

The internet allows for people from all over the world to gather together and share their experiences with each other. We must be able to give an account for what we believe. Despite the many religious options out there, Jesus is still the way, the truth and the life. Be willing to listen to others, but also be prepared to tell them about who Jesus is and what He has done in your life.

Blind & Deaf – November 16, 2015

Today’s Translation: New Living Translation | Weekly Video: The Blind Will See (Isaiah 43:8-13)

“Bring out the people who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf.” – Isaiah 43:8

Live It Out!

Isaiah was speaking to Israelites who were exiled in Babylon. This was a generation who had yet to witness the power of the God who had rescued their ancestors out of slavery in Egypt. Just because we can’t see God at work doesn’t mean He isn’t busy. Their exile would soon end when Cyrus the Great rises to power in the region.

November 14, 2015 – Good Father

Today’s Translation: The Amplified Bible | Weekly Video: Let My People Go! (Psalm 81)

“Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! Then I would quickly subdue and humble their enemies and turn My hand against their adversaries; those who hate the Lord would pretend obedience to Him and cringe before Him, and their time of punishment would be forever. But I would feed Israel with the finest of the wheat; and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.” – Psalm 81:13-16

Live It Out!

Our God is a good Father who wants to act on our behalf. A life of obedience to God will lead to the ultimate blessing of experiencing His presence in our everyday lives through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. As the Church, we are bound to each other as one family under God. Let us serve Him together!

November 13, 2015 – Listen to God!

Today’s Translation: New International Version | Weekly Video: Let My People Go! (Psalm 81)

“But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.” – Psalm 81:11-12

Live It Out!

God loves us as His own children, and He takes the role of Heavenly Father seriously. One of His greatest concerns throughout Scripture is for His people to simply listen to Him. When you pray, do you talk more than you listen? We need to allow our Heavenly Father to speak truth into our lives. Trust Him!

November 12, 2015 – Out of Egypt

Today’s Translation: The Message | Weekly Video: Let My People Go! (Psalm 81)

“Listen, dear ones— get this straight; O Israel, don’t take this lightly. Don’t take up with strange gods, don’t worship the latest in gods. I’m God, your God, the very God who rescued you from doom in Egypt, then fed you all you could eat, filled your hungry stomachs.” – Psalm 81:8-10

Live It Out!

Throughout the Old Testament, God constantly reminds His followers about how He rescued them out of slavery in Egypt. First of all, it is a shame this story is so often forgotten by the ancient Israelites. Second, this shows God as a deity who is not only concerned about history but willing to participate in it (as we later see with the birth of Jesus). Above all, we are called to be witnesses of Christ. So, what has God rescued you from?

November 11, 2015 – Redeemed!

Today’s Translation: Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video: Let My People Go! (Psalm 81)

“I heard an unfamiliar language: “I relieved his shoulder from the burden; his hands were freed from carrying the basket. You called out in distress, and I rescued you; answered you from the thundercloud. I tested you at the waters of Mariah.” – Psalm 81:6-7

Live It Out!

One of the main reasons we worship God is because of what He has done for us (namely salvation). Through the blood of Christ, we are redeemed in both body and spirit. Just as Israel had a covenant with God, we too are called to worship the only God who deserves to be worshiped.

November 10, 2015 – God of Jacob

Today’s Translation: The Voice Bible | Weekly Video: Let My People Go! (Psalm 81)

“For this is prescribed for Israel, a rule ordained by the True God of Jacob. A precept established by God in Joseph during His journey in Egypt.” – Psalm 81:4-5

Live It Out!

Throughout Scripture, God refers to Himself in relation to others (most commonly Abraham, Isaac and Jacob). This shows us that our God is a personal God who has a vested interest in human history. God is not a distant deity or an ancient philosophy; He is our Heavenly Father who wants to be involved in our lives.

November 9, 2015 – Called to Worship

Today’s Translation: New Living Translation | Weekly Video: Let My People Go! (Psalm 81)

“Sing praises to God, our strength. Sing to the God of Jacob. Sing! Beat the tambourine. Play the sweet lyre and the harp. Blow the ram’s horn at new moon, and again at full moon to call a festival!” – Psalm 81:1-3

Live It Out!

We are called to worship God together using our various talents, gifts and passions. We must have an attitude of worship in all we do. Since God has done great things on our behalf, let us celebrate His name through the way we live our lives (this includes our music, art and holidays).

November 7, 2015 – Point People to Jesus

Today’s Translation: The Amplified Bible | Weekly Video: Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21)

“Then He rolled up the scroll [having stopped in the middle of the verse], gave it back to the attendant and sat down [to teach]; and the eyes of all those in the synagogue were [attentively] fixed on Him. He began speaking to them: “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing and in your presence.”” – Luke 4:20-21

Live It Out!

As the Church, our charge is to point people to Jesus. There is nothing we can acquire or achieve that can compare to being washed clean by the blood of Christ. Once we are in Christ, our bodies become God’s holy temple, and His Spirit begins to transform us from the inside out. This is the only recipe for true and permanent change.

Fall Newsletter (2015)

Looking Back
Paradigm Shift | Church for people one the go

This has been an exciting summer for our ministry! In April, we moved our offices into The Haven on Vine Bed & Breakfast and Retreat Center in Marion, Ohio. In May, we launched our new Fifth Saturday program by hosting an all day miniature golf tournament and Christian concert. June and July saw our band, the Created… Music Project play at several regional events. In August, we partnered with Hope in Marion, which saw over 20 local churches come together to bring Nicky Cruz and TRUCE Ministries to town.

This summer, we also announced Youth412, which is our upcoming youth outreach platform built on over ten years of sports, music and online resources. In September, we had Don Stevenson stay with us at The Haven. Don walked across America this summer raising awareness for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. That same week, we also hosted The Andersons, a Southern Gospel group who joined us for our Six Thirty Saturday Nite live stream. Also in September, The Haven was featured on the television show Out ‘n About Columbus and the Created… Music Project played at the Marion Popcorn Festival and the Galion Oktoberfest.

Our latest adventure was submitting a video to the Mid-Ohio Talent Contest hosted by Marion’s Got Talent and Columbus Got Talent in October. Our band, the Created… Music Project received enough votes to be awarded a Fast Track Ticket to skip to the front of the line for the America’s Got Talent auditions in Detroit, which take place tomorrow.

Follow this link to see some pictures from our summer events!

Looking Ahead
Empowering people to pray, grow and serve together

Our website, PrayGrowServe.com, is currently undergoing a refresh with focus on live video and resource distribution. We will begin uploading Youth412 resources in the coming weeks, so anyone looking for information regarding CLAY Basketball will want to stay tuned.

Our Six Thirty Saturday Nite services will continue to be live streamed via Periscope. Beginning in December, we will be at Life[Link] Community Church on the first Saturday of every month. Second, third and fourth Saturdays will continue to be at The Haven with Fifth Saturdays taking place wherever we happen to be.

All in all, God has been moving in a big way both in our lives and in Marion. We are looking forward to finishing the year strong! If you would like to support us, you can make a donation by visiting http://ift.tt/1g9Wx9O.

Either way, please keep us in your prayers as we get ready for what will surely be the most exciting chapter in our ministry yet!

November 6, 2015 – Scripture Fulfilled

Today’s Translation: New International Version | Weekly Video: Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21)

“Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”” – Luke 4:20-21

Live It Out!

Jesus came to fulfill the Old Testament and then commissioned us – the Church – to fulfill the New Testament. Everything we read in the Bible is about Jesus – who He is, what He came to do and what He wants us to do. The Bible is not simply a text book or an ancient document to be studied – it is the living, breathing Word of God.

November 5, 2014 – Preserving the Truth

Today’s Translation: The Message | Weekly Video: Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21)

“God’s Spirit is on me; he’s chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor, sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the burdened and battered free, to announce, “This is God’s year to act!”” – Luke 4:18-19

Live It Out!

The Church is called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Part of that mission is to preserve the truth of who Jesus is and what He came to do. Many people have misconceptions of what it means to be a Christian – even people inside the Church! Let us devote ourselves to lovingly sharing the truth of God’s Word to all who will hear.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on Me,because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” – Luke 4:18-19

Live It Out!

The good news we have to share is Jesus – who He is and what He came to do. The world around us is dying, and we have the answer people are looking for! Together, we can flood the airwaves and social media feeds with the good news of Jesus! You have a voice, so use it to proclaim freedom to a world ensnared by sin.

“The Spirit of the Lord the Eternal One is on Me.Why? Because the Eternal designated Me to be His representative to the poor, to preach good news to them.” – Luke 4:18

Live It Out!

The Holy Spirit gives us gifts in order to build up the kingdom of God. We are ambassadors of Christ, and we are to represent His interests wherever we are. This world needs the hope that we have, so we must move beyond our comfort zones and preach the good news to all!

November 2, 2015 – The Spirit Is Upon the Church

Today’s Translation: New Living Translation | Weekly Video: Spirit Upon Us (Luke 4:16-21)

“When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures. The scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where this was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…” – Luke 4:16-18

Live It Out!

When Jesus speaks of Himself, by extension, He also speaks for us. We are the body of Christ, and we are to follow His lead by allowing the Holy Spirit to fill every aspect of our lives. Since the Spirit is upon us, we must be both bold and humble in preaching the Word.

Live It Out!

Because we are all a part of the body of Christ, we must learn to respect one another. Our lives are connected whether we want them to be or not. Rooted & Grounded in Love – September 16, 2015

Today’s Translation: Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video: Rooted in Love (Ephesians 3:14-21)

“I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love.” – Ephesians 3:17-18

Live It Out!

As Christians, our lives must be rooted and grounded in Christ’s love for us. Never forget who Jesus is and what He came to do for you when He took your place on the cross. If Jesus thinks you are worth dying for, then who cares what anyone else thinks? Jesus loves you – build your life around that truth.

God Is with Us – September 15, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Voice Bible | Weekly Video: Rooted in Love (Ephesians 3:14-21)

“Father, out of Your honorable and glorious riches, strengthen Your people. Fill their souls with the power of Your Spirit so that through faith the Anointed One will reside in their hearts. May love be the rich soil where their lives take root. May it be the bedrock where their lives are founded so that together…” – Ephesians 3:16-17

Live It Out!

Just like our loved ones are always with us in our hearts, God is always present. We are washed clean by the blood of Christ, which means we are God’s holy temple! God is not an absentee father or a hands-off landlord; He loves us perfectly, and He will never leave us.

God Is Our Father – September 14, 2015

Today’s Translation: New Living Translation | Weekly Video: Rooted in Love (Ephesians 3:14-21)

“When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.” – Ephesians 3:14-16

Live It Out!

The God who created the universe loves us as His own children. Therefore, we should base our identities in Him rather than in the temporal things of this world. Everything we see will one day fade away, but God’s love for us will endure forever.

Love Is Our Foundation – September 12, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Amplified Bible | Weekly Video: Called to Love (Mark 12:28-34)

“The scribe said to Him, “Admirably answered, Teacher; You truthfully stated that He is One, and there is no other but Him; and to love Him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to [unselfishly] love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”” – Ephesians 3:32-33

Live It Out!

Love should be the foundation of who we are as Christians and as the Church. How we live at home, at work or at school is more important than what we do on Sunday mornings. The world is watching, show them what it means to put love into action.

Love Your Neighbor – September 11, 2015

Today’s Translation: New International Version | Weekly Video: Called to Love (Mark 12:28-34)

“The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” – Ephesians 3:31

Live It Out!

Once upon a time, we used to depend on our neighbors to survive, but, today, we live very isolated lives. Instead of focusing on your own happiness, look for ways to be a blessing to someone else.

Love God with Your Mind & Strength – September 10, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Message | Weekly Video: Called to Love (Mark 12:28-34)

“Jesus said, “The first in importance is, ‘Listen, Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’” – Ephesians 3:29-30

Live It Out!

Loving God with your mind and strength means being active and intentional rather than being a blind follower who simply goes through the motions. God asks everything of us because He was willing to give everything when He sent His Son to die on the cross. Be passionate, and put your faith into action!

Love God with Your Heart & Soul – September 9, 2015

Today’s Translation: Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video: Called to Love (Mark 12:28-34)

““This is the most important,” Jesus answered: Listen, Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” – Ephesians 3:29-30

Live It Out!

Loving God with your heart and soul means loving Him with depth and sincerity. Your heart should stir when you are doing the things God has called you to do. And your soul should ache for all the people who are broken and without hope. Let your love of God be what drives you.

Listen to God – September 8, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Voice Bible | Weekly Video: Called to Love (Mark 12:28-34)

Jesus: “The most important commandment is this: “Hear, O Israel, the Eternal One is our God, and the Eternal One is the only God…”” – Ephesians 3:29

Live It Out!

When asked what is the greatest commandment, Jesus recites what is known as “The Great Shema.” The Hebrew word shema means ‘to listen or to hear,’ and immediately precedes many important passages in the Old Testament. As Christians, we should always be listening to the wise words of our Heavenly Father by reading our Bibles.

We Are Hollowed Ground – September 5, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Amplified Bible | Weekly Video: We Are One (Ephesians 4:1-6)

“I therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God’s service, Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because you love one another. Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace.

[There is] one body and one Spirit— just as there is also one hope [that belongs] to the calling you received— [There is] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of [us] all, Who is above all [Sovereign over all], pervading all and [living] in [us] all.” – Ephesians 4:1-6 (AMP)

Live It Out!

Cemeteries and memorials are considered ‘hollowed ground’ because of the people who are laid to rest there. So much more should our bodies to be considered ‘hollowed ground’ because of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The presence of God lives within our souls! Let us treat each other with the same respect and reverence we would when treading on ‘hollowed ground.’

We Are One in the Spirit – September 4, 2015

Today’s Translation: New International Version | Weekly Video: We Are One (Ephesians 4:1-6)

“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” – Ephesians 4:1-6 (NIV)

Live It Out!

Our job is not to create unity; it is to protect and maintain the unity already built by the presence of the Holy Spirit. Because the Holy Spirit lives inside of each and every Christian, we are all the Church together!

Jesus Is the Way – September 3, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Message | Weekly Video: We Are One (Ephesians 4:1-6)

“In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do. While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master, I want you to get out there and walk— better yet, run!— on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline— not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.

You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness.” – Ephesians 4:1-6 (MSG)

Live It Out!

The world tells you to find yourself by traveling down many different roads and following the one that makes you feel the most happy. The Bible tells us to travel the narrow road to heaven because Jesus alone is the way, the truth and the life. The Christian life may not be the easiest path to travel, but it will most certainly be worth it in the end.

We Are One in the Son – September 2, 2015

Today’s Translation: Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video: We Are One (Ephesians 4:1-6)

“Therefore I, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, accepting one another in love, diligently keeping the unity of the Spirit with the peace that binds us. There is one body and one Spirit— just as you were called to one hope at your calling— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.” – Ephesians 4:1-6 (HCSB)

Live It Out!

Despite our different denominations and traditions, all Christians have been saved through the blood of Christ. Jesus gave everything for us out of love, so let’s give our lives back to Him in return. We are one in Him!

Let’s Build for the Future – September 1, 2015

Today’s Translation: The Voice Bible | Weekly Video: We Are One (Ephesians 4:1-6)

“As a prisoner of the Lord, I urge you: Live a life that is worthy of the calling He has graciously extended to you. Be humble. Be gentle. Be patient. Tolerate one another in an atmosphere thick with love. Make every effort to preserve the unity the Spirit has already created, with peace binding you together. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were all called to pursue one hope. There is one Lord Jesus, one living faith, one ceremonial washing through baptism, and one God— the Father over all who is above all, through all, and in all.” – Ephesians 4:1-6 (VOICE)

Live It Out!

Living a life worthy of the calling we have received means living for something much more than yourself. As Christians, we are a part of something bigger than anything this world has to offer — the kingdom of God. Live in such a way to leave a positive mark for future generations both inside and outside the Church.

We Are One in the Father – August 31, 2015

Today’s Translation: New Living Translation | Weekly Video: We Are One (Ephesians 4:1-6)

“Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.”

Live It Out!

Through Christ, God has adopted us all as His own children. We are called to live lives worthy being children of the Most High God. Seek God’s purpose for your life, and honor your Father by living your life for Him.
