Today’s Translation: New Living Translation | Weekly Video: Staying Humble (1 Kings 3:3-14)

“Solomon loved the Lord and followed all the decrees of his father, David, except that Solomon, too, offered sacrifices and burned incense at the local places of worship. The most important of these places of worship was at Gibeon, so the king went there and sacrificed 1,000 burnt offerings.” – 1 Kings 3:3-4 (NLT)

Live It Out!

David was a legendary figure in the history of Israel – the warrior king who united the twelve tribes. It must have been overwhelming for Solomon to have to assume the throne from his father, yet he began his reign by worshiping the God of his father. For us, it is easy to feel overwhelmed when we realize we are here to represent Jesus, but, if we turn to Him, His Spirit will carry us through.
