Six Thirty Saturday Nite (Prince of Peace)

Tonight I (Dustin) preached a message entitled “Prince of Peace” about how Jesus entered Jerusalem in peace despite knowing He was going to die.

After our service, I watched the #GOPDebate, which was full of personal attacks and hateful rhetoric. After that, I was scrolling through Twitter where people are celebrating the death of Justice #Scalia.

If we want to fix our country, we must begin by looking in at our own hearts. There is this dark bitterness that is tearing apart our souls, dividing us into tribes rather than us coming together in common purpose.

Those of us in the Church bear this burden because we know who Jesus is and what He did for us on the cross.

Can we all please grow up and follow the example of our Lord by laying our lives down for our friends (and enemies)? The love that led Jesus to the cross is the only thing powerful enough to overcome the evil in this world.
