Trusting God – October 14, 2016

Today’s Translation: New International Version | Weekly Video: The Patriarchs (Hebrews 11:8-22)

“By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.” – Hebrews 11:17-19 (NIV)

Live It Out!

Even after Abraham received his promised heir, he still trusted God. God will often test our faith when things seem to be going well just to make sure we don’t forget the source of our blessings. Leaning on our own strength or selfishly holding on to what has so graciously been given us can lead to sin. We must be so in tune with the will of God that we don’t hesitate when He suggests the impossible.
