Suffering Servant April 20 2016

Today’s Translation: Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video: Savior of the World (Acts 8:26-40)

“Now the Scripture passage he was reading was this: ‘He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb is silent before its shearer, so He does not open His mouth. In His humiliation justice was denied Him. Who will describe His generation? For His life is taken from the earth.’” – Acts 8:32-33 (HCSB)

Live It Out!

The passage the Ethiopian Eunuch was reading comes from a section of Isaiah that refers to the ‘suffering servant.’ Jesus is the one foretold by the Old Testament who would give His life to save the world. We can see the influence of Jesus in just about every heroic book or movie. Instead of running from our culture, we need to meet people where they are when it comes to explaining who Jesus is and what He came to do. He is the Messiah. He is the ultimate superhero.
