Watch Out for Sin – September 21, 2016

Today’s Translation: Holman Christian Standard Bible | Weekly Video: Cain & Abel (Genesis 4:1-16)

“Then the Lord said to Cain, ‘Why are you furious? And why do you look despondent? If you do what is right, won’t you be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.'” – Genesis 4:6-7 (HCSB)

Live It Out!

Often times, we blame God when we make mistakes. Because we live in a fallen world, sin is always lurking, waiting for its moment to disguise itself as something desirable. We must always guard our hearts so we can resist temptation. The benefit we (those who are living in Christ) have over Cain is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Since we have been washed clean by the blood of Christ, our bodies are now God’s holy temple – His Spirit lives within us! So stay close to God and flee from temptation!
